Whatstandwell Social Club an active social club which organises social events for the village. These events are usually self-funded – unless we have specific funding from elsewhere. We organise events such as the Whatstandwell Festival, which is held on the weekend closest to mid-summers day. Through our activities money is raised for charities, events and projects that benefit the community.

The Briars is a residential retreat centre for The Nottingham Diocesan Catholic Youth Service.
Situated on The Common between Crich and Fritchley, we work with young people from all across the diocese as they embark on retreat experiences with us. For between 3 and 5 days we offer our young people the opportunity to step out of their everyday life, to focus on their relationship with themselves, each other and with God through days packed with team building, teaching, prayer and fun.
