Summertime fun at Midland Railway next Saturday 24th July

by Linda Philo

Grow Outside's garden at Butterley Railway station

Join Grow Outside CIC at Midland Railway for summertime fun on Saturday 24th July as they open the community garden gates to the public for the very first time!

They are settling in well to their new home at Midland Railway Trust’s Butterley Station and can’t wait to show you around!

The whole of the Midland Railway site will be open to explore (fees apply beyond the garden) and an air of celebration will be in the air as The Mayor of Ripley, Councillor Roland Emmas-Williams, and his Consort, Mrs Emmas-Williams cut the ribbon to welcome the public back to this wonderful local attraction.

The official opening will take place at 10.30am and the garden will be open to enjoy 10.30am-5pm. Claire and Kirsty will be there to give you the guided tour and would love to meet you, so do pop in to say hello.

There will be tea and cakes to enjoy, activities for all ages, plant sales and a prize draw.

The garden is the perfect spot to explore while you wait for your train to arrive at Butterley, or take a walk around Butterley Reservoir and bring a picnic to make a lovely nature-based day out!

Grow Outside do hope you are able to come and join in the celebrations and look forward to seeing you there!
