Crich Children Return to School
Crich Junior School children were greeted with a colourful banner as they arrived at school on Monday 8th March, to celebrate the return of all children for face-to-face learning.
While schools have remained open for children classed as vulnerable and those of key workers, for many this was their first day back in school buildings since they closed for the Christmas Holidays in December. The school had planned special activities that allowed children time to catch up with their friends in their bubble.
And it was a vibrant scene greeting families when they came to collect their children at the end of the day. The children had decorated the playground with chalk drawings inspired by the work of Joan Miro and the floor and walls were awash with colour.
As well as allowing time for the children to be creative and expressive, they were able to chat and laugh with their friends as they created their chalk art. Acting Headteacher Chris Orridge commented on how wonderful it was to hear the happy noise of a full school once again.
