Fritchley and District OAP Association invites those from nearby towns and villages to come and join our social meetings.  There are no age, gender or culture restrictions.

Please note, we now meet on the first Tuesday afternoon of each month from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at The Congregational Church Hall, Fritchley.

Our aim is to provide a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which people can get to know each other; listen to speakers who provide interesting talks on a variety of topics; enjoy a range of entertainers; join us on seasonal outings to the coast and countryside as well as occasional meals at the hall or at a local restaurant. Our monthly meetings always include refreshments - tea, coffee, biscuits and the occasional cake served by our friendly and helpful committee.

Janet Swindell has done a sterling job of running the OAP group and we all thank her for being so committed to the group.  Although Janet won’t be at the helm, she will still be with us and I’m sure the committee can call on her when help is needed.

There will be no meeting on the first Tuesday in December and January.  Our first meeting in 2022 will be 1st February  (Subs will be due).

Please come along to the hall (as above) or contact Sandra at sandra.maycock@outlook.com with a subject heading Fritchley OAP or on 01773 828856

      Monthly Music Sessions: Comealong!

We are delighted to say that the music sessions that used to be held monthly, on the second Friday of every month, at the Wesleyan Chapel, Chapel Lane, Crich DE4 5BU have restarted. These sesions are organised jointly by the Wesleyan Chapel and Crich Area Dementia Friends. They are open to all.

With the restart, there is a new name. It has been decided to call the sessions “Comealong”. This reflects the inclusive nature of the sessions and also that, although, they are frequently, musical sessions, other fun activities can be included; for example, tomorrow Friday 12th November 2021 Martyn Offord will be sharing poetry and song with the group.

As always the sessions will start at 2.00pm and after the entertainment there will be a cup of tea, some cake and a chance for a chat.

So please “come along” and share this information with anyone you think might be interested.
